What is this?

Layouts is an application for arranging text, images, and graphical elements on printed or digital pages.

Some features of Layouts include:

Document setup to define page size, orientation, margins, and bleed;
Grid and guides for columns, rows, and baseline grid;
Rich typography controls with full font-family selection, ligatures, small caps, paragraph and character styles, kerning, tracking, leading, and hyphenation settings;
Image and graphic handling with frame-based placement, supporting raster and vector formats;
Layer management with grouping, blending, and opacity control;
Preflight support with automated checks for missing fonts, low-resolution images, overset text, etcetera; and
Export as high-resolution PDFs, low-resolution PDFs, and image formats.
