What is this?
The Beagle shell is a component that handles the visual aspects of the operating system, such as windows, icons, menus, panels, etcetera. The shell is responsible for showing things like boot progress, the login screen, and notifications. It also provides interactive controls for things like volume and screen brightness, a dock and home screen for launching applications, and a switcher for moving between different applications.
The Beagle shell includes:
- Boot: A component for displaying system boot progress;
- Controls: A component for quickly accessing system controls, such as volume, screen brightness, and wireless connections;
- Dock: A component for opening pinned and recent applications;
- Home: A component for exploring all installed applications;
- Keyboard: A component for inputting text via the screen;
- Login: A component for gaining access to the system;
- Notifications: A component for providing alerts to users; and
- Switch: A component for enabling users to switch between different applications.
