What is anarcho-communism?

Ideology

Anarcho–communism, also known as anarchist communism, free communism, libertarian communism, and communist anarchism, is a theory of anarchism which advocates the abolition of the state, capitalism, wage labour, and private property, while retaining respect for personal property. It is in favour of common ownership of the means of production, direct democracy, and a horizontal network of voluntary associations and workers councils with production and consumption based on the guiding principle: From each according to his ability, to each according to his need.

Some forms of anarchist communism, such as insurrectionary anarchism, are strongly influenced by egoism and radical individualism, believing anarcho–communism is the best social system for the realisation of individual freedom. Some anarcho–communists view anarcho–communism as a way of reconciling the opposition between the individual and society.

Like other collectivist ideologies, anarcho-communism suffers from the free-rider problem, the economic calculation problem, a dependence on external markets, and loss of individual autonomy.

Followers

Anarcho–communists support maximum cultural freedom and maximum restrictions on economic freedom. Anarcho–communists support the abolition of the state. Anarcho–communists oppose all private property rights and all uses of money.

Allies

Anarcho-communists will ally themselves with other socialists, known as useful idiots, for as long as they derive utility from the association. Once their usefulness ends, anarcho-communists will betray their allies, often with deadly force.

As they lean toward the libertarian side of the political spectrum, anarcho-communists will view socialists on the authoritarian side of the spectrum with suspicion and mistrust. As such, they are less likely to ally with these socialists.

Enemies

Anarcho-communists consider liberals and capitalists to be their enemies and seek to destroy them utterly for daring to end the tradition of collectivism that was practiced for most of human history. Anarcho-communists will employ entryist strategies to infiltrate and subvert liberal and capitalist organisations so as to destroy them from within.

Location on the political spectrum

Anarcho-communism is located at the far-bottom far-left of the political spectrum. It is bordered by democratic socialism, libertarian socialism, and syndicalism. As it is a fringe ideology, anarcho-communism does not occupy as much space on the spectrum as more mainstream ideologies.
